Radiance
™
What is Radiance™? Radiance is the most-requested facial filler available in the United
States and in the Board Certified Plastic Surgeon's New York offices.
Facial fillers are substances injected into the face to lessen the
appearance of lines and grooves as well as augmentation (enlargement) of lips
/ lip augmentation, chin, or cheeks. Radiance™ is also used to fill acne depressions and is the ideal treatment for facial wasting. Radiance™ has shown an exceptional safety record in over ten
years of use.
Radiance results are immediate and lasts from two to five years.
Now you can dramatically minimize lines and creases and restore vitality to your face with Radiance. The formation of lines and creases on the face and the thinning of lips are a natural part of living, not just aging. They occur when
the underlying tissues begin to break down. They also result from years of smiling, frowning, squinting or smoking. In other words, these marks of maturity are inevitable. But their permanence need not be.
Radiance is the ideal treatment for these areas of the face:
*Lip augmentation / thinning lips
*Lines between the nose and mouth, between eyebrows and on the upper lip
*The so-called "smile lines" and "frown lines"
*Depressions and acne scars
*Shallow cheeks
*Facial wasting
Radiance is a non-surgical treatment, performed as a simple injection
during a office visit to the Plastic Surgeon. A numbing, or anesthetic agent, may be applied to the area, after which Radiance will be injected with a very fine needle designed for
cosmetic purposes.
As Radiance is gently injected by the Plastic Surgeon, it builds up the tissues of the face, reducing folds and creases and restoring fullness. It does not paralyze or act on the face's muscles. Enhancement with Radiance is relatively painless, and any minor swelling from the
injection typically disappears within 24 hours. You can comfortably return to normal activities after your treatment. Best of all, you'll see results immediately and can expect to enjoy them for up to three or more years.
Synthetic Purity, Natural Appearance
Radiance is unlike any other product for facial enhancement. It is as remarkable for what it isn't, as for what it is. Radiance is not silicone or polymetylmethylacrylate beads, materials that are permanent and cannot be removed should problems occur.
Radiance is not a human or animal product, which can cause inflammation and reaction. Nor is it a bovine collagen or a muscle relaxant, both of which produce only temporary results.
Rather, Radiance is a pure, synthetic compound with a record of safety that extends more than 25 years. It is comprised of microspheres of calcium hydroxylapatite, combined with an aqueous gel. The key element of Radiance is identical to the chemical
structure of calcium naturally present in the human body. Throughout its life, Radiance remains soft and flexible and also exceptionally compatible with the body.
Prior to its introduction, the Radiance formula was extensively tested in the United States and Europe. No reactions or rejections have been reported to date.
When injected, the cream-like texture of Radiance feels soft and natural. Unlike temporary treatments that must be repeated, Radiance provides years of rejuvenation. It is gradually replaced by the body's own tissue, and slowly dissolves away in
approximately seven years.
Improve on Nature
You need not think that it's too early to enhance your facial features. Perhaps you'd like more voluptuous lips, or want to diminish the appearance of blemish scars from childhood. Radiance can make select areas of your face more to your liking. Ask your
physician about the range of possibilities with Radiance.
It Passes the Kiss Test
What will Radiance look and feel like after you've been treated? As a material, Radiance is cream-like in texture and remains that way throughout its life. The sensitivity and feeling of enhanced areas are retained. Once injected, its softness resembles
that of your normal facial tissue. In fact, your own tissues will integrate with the Radiance microspheres as a natural process of your body. Since your physician can control the amount of Radiance injected, you can achieve the exact amount of
enhancement you desire. Individuals who have received Radiance treatment are very pleased with its natural look and feel. Most important, they say it passes the most crucial test of all — the "kiss test"!
Unique, Just Like You
Radiance is unique among treatments to enhance the face and offers a combination of benefits unavailable with other approaches:
* A time-tested synthetic material used in medicine and dentistry
* Complete safety and compatibility with the body

present a renewed, revitalized face to the world.
HIV-related Facial Wasting and How Radiance Will Improve Your Appearance
Facial wasting is rapidly becoming an important issue in the lives of those living with HIV. A person’s HIV status sometimes becomes apparent just looking at their face- this is called facial wasting. Self-image and self-esteem issues are now arising
because of facial wasting. Out of despair and necessity, many HIV positive people are searching for reconstructive techniques that could improve their facial wasting. Radiance will dramatically and immediately improve your appearance.
Longevity: Although no one can say for sure, some surgeons have speculated Radiance longevity being at least 2 to 5 years -- some report over 6 years and counting.
If you have any questions about Radiance or any other plastic
surgery procedures please feel free to contact the Plastic Surgeon at
his Manhattan or Westchester, New York office.
